Northumberland High School senior Tyreek Lundy recently traveled to California where he played in the 19th annual Offensive-Defensive All-American Bowl Series.
Lundy, the only Virginia high school student to attend the games, played in his second straight bowl series.
The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl Series was held at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., December 26-29. The bowl week included opening ceremonies, practices, games, leadership seminars, position clinics, practice interview sessions, senior night, and a recruiting fair and recruiting seminars.
Lundy played quarterback on the Chargers, one of eight teams in the series. His
21 teammates were players from all across the country, including Wyoming, Georgia, California, Florida, Rhode Island, New Mexico, Nevada, Illinois, New Jersey, Arizona, Maryland, New York, Hawaii, and Oregon.
Lundy led Northumberland to the Region 1A semifinals with an 8-4 record this year. He was named to the Virginia High School League’s first-team all-state football team as quarterback in December. Lundy also filled a spot on the all-state second team as a defensive back. He earned first-team All-Northern Neck District and All-Region 1A team honors.
