The mission of Northumberland Middle School
is to provide a safe and caring community where all students learn as they
strive to achieve their potential and to grow into productive, global
citizens.
LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear
Students,
We
welcome you to an exciting year at Northumberland Middle School. One of the primary purposes of middle
school is to allow you to make a smooth transition between elementary school and
high school. While you are
attending NMS, we will do our best to help you become an independent, active and
well-rounded member of the community.
Your
attitude and outlook are critical elements to your success at school. If you are positive and work hard at
your studies, you will be rewarded by an exciting and fulfilling experience in
middle school life. We ask that you
do your best on assignments and work hard to get along with teachers and
classmates. Remember that your
teachers are here to help you learn, so don’t hesitate to ask questions of
them. Your conduct at school should
be a credit to you and your parents.
Try to exhibit behavior at NMS that you know your parents would expect of
you.
Communication
among staff, students and parents is the key to an effective school. Parents are encouraged to visit the
school and get to know the teachers, just as we encourage teachers to get to
know the parents.
We
are looking forward to a great year of learning and we have the expectation that
your time at Northumberland Middle School will be a memorable and valuable
experience for you.
Sincerely,
Robert
