Mr. Mallorie Home phone : 580-4274 Under the direction of Mr. Walter Mallorie, the Music department at Northumberland High School offers a variety of activities designed to help students advance their musical abilities, expand their musical knowledge, and just have fun with music. Our principle activities are detailed here, we are always willing to add new ones if we have sufficient student demand. Any questions about the music program should be directed to Mr. Mallorie by e-mail or phone. Instrumental Music MARCHING BAND The Northumberland High School Marching Indian Band enjoys a long tradition of public appearances at both football games and area parades. Members from the 8th to 12th grade are welcomed. Students perfect routines for both field and street performance, and act as an integral part of the Football pep group. The band offers a full elective credit, although its time is entirely outside of school hours. This is a great way for students with full schedules to add an enjoyable elective! Participation in other music groups is not required. The band welcomes students without instrumental background, as members of the flag corps, dance line, or majorette line. The Marching Indian Band rehearses once a week during the summer until mid August, then has a two week band camp with intense day long training. Rehearsals continue after school two days a week during football season. We welcome anyone with schedule conflicts to discuss them with us and determine if they can be accommodated. If you have an interest in Music, talk to us about the right opportunity for you to enjoy music in Northumberland County Schools!
